Evolving farms for a digital future

The Challenge

Farms are becoming expensive entities to manage: they cannot be as reliant on subsidies, they need to show progression towards net-zero, they need to respond to verifying weather patterns, and increase biodiversity. As a result, Diometer intended to create an Open Digital Farm network to expertly collect and review data that strengthens a farm’s survival for the future. 

Diometer contacted the Innovation Grant Mentoring Programme because they wanted to increase their chances with receiving innovation funding to further develop the technology for their platform.

Our Solution

The Innovation Grant Mentoring Programme allocated a Mentor and Bid Writing Coach to Diometer to support with further developing the business model and idea, in addition to focusing on two bids around Artificial Intelligence solutions and agricultural technology.

Results & Impact

• Secured a Feasibility Studies for AI Solutions grant worth £50,000
• Won a £300,000 bid from the Agri-tech and Food Technology Award
• Actively working with farms to show the benefits of digitalisation
